About Buntu
A long-term ecosystem for African talent.
Buntu Foundation was created in response to a structural gap: the absence of early, coherent, ethically grounded pathways that guide young Africans from secondary education into advanced scientific, technological, and research careers, with purpose and global relevance.
We start where most others stop. Our scholarship coaching has already helped 50+ African students win fully-funded Master's and PhD seats around the world, and our AI4 Youth Summer School brings 100+ high-schoolers a year into ethical, hands-on AI.
Our mission
Help African students and professionals unlock the funding, training and networks they need to lead in science, AI and research, from high school all the way to PhD.
Our approach
Depth before breadth. We replicate a tight, values-driven model rather than chase scale, every cohort gets the same care as the first.
Our values
Excellence, empathy, collaboration, responsibility. Soft skills are treated as prerequisites for powerful technologies, not as garnish.
Our reach
Africa-first, with active diaspora partnerships in Canada and Europe. Mostly francophone today, expanding to English.
